What Clean Beauty Means and Why It Matters
Hello! And welcome to our very first blog post at Le Melior.
"Clean beauty” is also referred as “green beauty.” Ahead, we’ll offer some insights into what clean beauty is and why it’s the wave of the future. In fact, let’s start there.
Why Clean Beauty?
When you purchase a new beauty product, it’s natural to expect the product to be safe for your body. Beauty products should be safe for you. But what if we told you that most of the beauty products out there are actually filled with harmful substances, such as parabens, PEG compounds, petrochemicals, unclean fragrances, and more whose technical names you may not even have heard of?
Surprised? So were we. It’s not a fact the beauty industry likes to advertise. Many people also may not pay any attention to product ingredients or think about potential issues until skin concerns arise, such as sudden eczema, skin irritation or allergy. But as it is now, mainstream skincare products could actually be causing harm to your skin and even long-term health effects that you may not easily realize.
How? Many people assume that the small amount of toxins present in beauty care products couldn’t possibly be doing harm to your body as they sit on your skin. Ostensibly, this would be true, except for one important fact: Your skin is your body’s largest organ, and it can absorb a great deal of what you put on it.
In other words, what goes on your skin, can go into your body. Ingredients like parabens, formaldehyde, and ethanolamines can cause detrimental health consequences — some of which we don’t even know about yet. Many of these chemicals are potential cancer-causing substances and/or have the potential to negatively affect reproductive function, disrupt hormones, or cause organ toxicity.
There’s good news, though. If you simply choose clean beauty products, you’ll not only be promoting beautiful skin with pure, safe and beneficial ingredients that help bring your skin back to balance, but you’ll also be protecting your body from the harmful ingredients long-term.
In fact, with all the pollution and toxins around, many have realized the importance of healthy, organic living, not to mention those who have been experiencing or are starting to encounter skin problems. As such, clean beauty has come into light as the truly natural alternative that benefit and protect your skin and overall well-being.
What Does Clean Beauty Mean?
Clean beauty means safer beauty products, free of harmful or questionable ingredients, but still packed with effective nutrients to nourish and protect your skin. These products rely on utilizing the power of plants, minerals, and vitamins to feed your skin the more natural way, hence why the term “green beauty” is also used.
If synthetics are included, clean beauty products use only safe synthetics in order to maintain effectiveness in each item or where they accomplish their tasks better than natural ingredients (for now — green chemistry is constantly evolving). The goal is to benefit the skin, without damaging your health.
Your skin is an essential part of your health and well-being, and it's crucial that you take good care of your skin for your better being. When you choose truly natural, organic beauty products, it’s a step toward better care for your outside and your inside — and nothing feels better than treating yourself right. With Le Melior’s products, this is easier now than ever before.
